Approach
Prepared for what is next, not only what is due.
The practice plans the year before the year plans the practice. That is why the service level is chosen in the fall, and why new work starts with a meeting instead of a portal login.
01
Each month
Full Close
Books, close, and bank and credit-card reconciliation. Payroll is coordinated, not ignored until the W-2s.
02
Each quarter
Both year-round levels
The plan is rerun. Estimates, owner pay, and anything the books are trying to warn you about get a decision, not a bookmark.
03
Filing season
Every enrolled engagement
The entity return and the owner 1040, prepared from a year that was already reviewed — or, for filing-only, from a compliance engagement with a narrower scope.
04
By November 15, 2026
You
Choose the 2026 level. After that, the calendar follows the businesses already on it.
What to bring to the first meeting
All new clients attend an in-person or virtual meeting before any engagement. For security, attachments and links sent before that meeting are not opened. No exceptions.
- The legal name of each entity, and who owns it.
- Whether QuickBooks (or similar) is current, behind, or nonexistent.
- Who enters bills and payroll today, if anyone.
- Last year’s returns, once the meeting is underway — not as an email attachment.
- The question you actually want answered this year.

Questions worth answering before you enroll
Will you enter my transactions?+–
Only on Full Close & Planning. Planning & Review assumes someone else is already entering bills and payroll in QuickBooks or a similar file. On that level I review, I do not key, and I do not pay bills.
What does “both returns” mean?+–
The business return and the owner’s individual return. On the published filing-only fees, that is a standard S corporation plus one 1040, or a partnership plus two owner 1040s.
We have two owners. What changes?+–
Add $100 a month when two or more owners need separate 1040s or basis tracking. That add-on sits on Planning & Review or Full Close. Extra entities under the same owner are not included — they are quoted on their own.
Can I just have the return prepared?+–
Yes, for a smaller set of 2026 engagements. Filing-only is $1,650 or $2,100 for the two published shapes. It does not include a quarterly plan or books. If you want a high-volume preparation firm, ask for a referral.
How do new clients start?+–
With an in-person or virtual meeting before any engagement. For security, the practice does not open attachments or click links before that meeting. No exceptions. Use the start form or email; do not send a document drop as the introduction.
Are you a CPA firm?+–
Greg T. Dunavant holds a Master of Science in Accounting with a focus in taxation and has practiced since 1997. White Fox prepares returns and advises. It is not a CPA firm and it does not offer audits or reviews.
Where do you work?+–
The practice is based in Frisco and works with clients across North Texas. New engagements begin with that in-person or virtual meeting. Write to whitefoxtax@gmail.com.
